Blockchain - proof of concept

Swedish Lantmäteriet, the Mapping, Cadaster and Land Registration Authority, deals with boundaries, ownerships and rights to land and water, real properties, since centuries. National economy and working democracy relies on the trust for the business and operation of keeping, maintaining and distributing land and property information with quality. With new technology an organisation like Lantmäteriet must develop in order to keep that trust and to improve quality even more. Blockchain technology is one of the opportunities that will work in favour for society and land owners. The presentation will describe why the blockchain project is of such interest and what it may lead to.

SKAT shares experiences gained from the development of a Proof of Concept (PoC) based on blockchain technology. The PoC, Vehicle Wallet, is a distributed database that contains a shared register of vehicles and their full history through the value chain. The goal of the PoC was to answer some of the unanswered questions regarding blockchain technology and it’s feasibility.
