CEPIS
DANSK IT er medlem af CEPIS, der er en europæisk paraplyorganisation for dataforeninger i Europa. I det følgende er en kort gennemgang af CEPIS' formål.
Formål
CEPIS is a non-profit organisation seeking to improve and promote high standards among informatics professionals in recognition of the impact that informatics has on employment, business and society.
Goals
1. To be the European IT professional network for Member Societies
2. To become the European IT certification organisation, working with educators, industry and other certification organisations
3. To be recognized by EU / European institutions as the leading independent IT Professionals organisation
4. To help ensure an adequate supply of competent IT professionals
Counsil
Council is the governing body of CEPIS. Meetings are held twice a year and are attended by representatives from member societies. Council has ultimate control over CEPIS and its activities; it takes decisions regarding strategy, finance, projects, and membership. President is Geoff McMullen, president of British Computer Society.

CEPIS har taget initiativ til ECDL - European Computer Driving Licence - det, der på dansk hedder PC-kørekort®. Aktiviteterne er lagt over i et selskab - ECDL-Foundation - der varetager alle interesse vedr. ECDL.
